… a poem by Emma / from Leeds / studies Medicine / 4th year (UG)
Walking through cobbled streets,
A view of the castle in sight,
An artisan coffee in one hand,
Battered textbooks, heirlooms from my predecessors, in the other.
The winter wind licks my cheeks,
I scramble up the stairs into Teviot,
Find the sofas housing my friends,
The evening’s spent debating the ethics of medical decision making.
This is studying, broadening the mind and engaging in learning.
This is my Edinburgh experience.
